Then you probably know about the problem with deposited waste material in the tank, which must be emptied with a vacuum cleaner at regular intervals?

With a top-mounted agitator from Chemineer, your product is kept homogeneous, so you avoid deposits of material and instead can pump the entire product further in the process, where the waste material can be filtered out - easily and efficiently without stopping production.

This saves the entire sludge suction process and reduces downtime for maintenance, so that your production eventually becomes more efficient.

Based on your data, Chemineer performs testing and simulation of your process so you get the optimal agitation tailored to exactly your needs.

These tests and simulations are performed using computer simulation - called CFD.

CFD, which stands for Computational Fluid Dynamics, is a powerful tool used to mathematically model fluid flow from various agitator/impeller constructions in mixing tanks. Using this simulation, it is also possible to analyse mixing and reaction rates for chemicals and heat transfer.

Mixing single and multiphase liquids in mixing tanks is a common task in many industries. Understanding the fluid flow in these tanks is crucial for equipment design, upscaling, process control and economic factors. CFD models allow you to see what's going on in the tank, making it easier to choose the best agitator design in order to achieve the desired result.

The flow patterns in the tanks are complex, making traditional CFD a time-consuming process where it can take up to three days to define all the equations and run the programme. However, our supplier, Chemineer, uses a number of proprietary techniques to speed up this process. Their engineers can carry out a two-dimensional CFD analysis in as little as 10 minutes and a 3D analysis in 3-4 hours.
