What is an eccentric pump?

Eccentric pumps, which are positive displacement pumps, are suitable for transferring products with both very high and very low viscosity, as well as media that require gentle handling and media with small to medium-sized particles.

The eccentric pump moves the medium using a single-helix metal rotor that rotates eccentrically and thus forms a cavity that moves from the suction side towards the pressure side. This creates a uniform and delicate flow without pulsation. Reduced wear on the pump parts thanks to the low contact speed between rotor and stator.

Eccentric pumps are known for their versatility and are available in different models in AISI 304, 316 stainless steel or in cast iron for both vertical and horizontal installation.

How to operate an eccentric pump

Our eccentric screw pumps are food-safe pumps with a large suction chamber. They are self-suction and self-priming and are available for both horizontal and vertical installation.

Our vertical eccentric screw pump is a progressive cavity pump manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel and designed for vertical installation with the inlet immersed directly in the product. It is intended for product transfer and container-emptying applications where the suction port is inserted directly into the product and used for racking and emptying drums or containers and can be installed on a special manually or pneumatically operated drum holder.

The main components of the vertical eccentric pumps such as stator, rotor, joints and mechanical seal are the same as used on the corresponding horizontal version.
