Sanitary and industrial displacement pumps suitable for pumping media with large particles.
Positive displacement pumps
Displacement pumps
At Alflow, we sell positive displacement pumps – also called displacement pumps and positive pumps – for the pharmaceutical industry, for the chemical industry and for the food industry. The pumps are produced in durable materials that help ensure an efficient experience. See the selection of positive displacement pumps from leading manufacturers on this page, and transport the given liquids in the best way.
Displacement pumps push (displace) the pump medium, for example with a piston, diaphragm, gear or screw.
What is a displacement pump?
There are several types of positive displacement pumps – for example piston pumps, diaphragm pumps, gear pumps, lobe pumps, screw pumps and eccentric screw pumps.
Diaphragm pumps are widely used due to their versatility. They have good self-priming properties, are suitable for ATEX applications, and they handle both low-viscosity liquids, high-viscosity liquids and liquids with particles. Diaphragm pumps are available in several different variants, materials and sizes. They are available in aluminium, stainless steel, acid-proof steel, PP and PVDF.
Screw pumps are suitable for pumping extremely liquid and highly viscous products. They deliver a gentle and pulsation-free pumping of liquids with high suction power.
The screw pump moves the medium using the double screws that rotate and thus push the medium forward from the suction side towards the pressure side. This achieves a uniform and delicate flow without pulsation. The contact-free movement of the screws also eliminates the risk of wear particles in the medium.
Screw pumps are known for their versatility and are available in different models in AISI 316 stainless steel, cast iron, Inconel, Hastelloy, nickel-aluminium bronze, Duplex and Super Duplex.
Lobe pumps are an effective solution for complicated tasks with the transport of viscous products, and they are also suitable for handling abrasive products.
The lobe pumps have a modular design that makes it quick and easy to change main parts such as the rotor. This ensures good service, a long service life and easy and cheap maintenance.
Our lobe rotor pumps, which are volumetric lobe pumps manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel and special alloys (Hastelloy, Monel, Titanium), meet most transfer applications to suit hygienic and chemical properties.
Gear pumps (also called gear pumps) are particularly suitable for tasks that require versatility, reliability and safety. Our gear pumps are compact and suitable for pumping fluids that have lubricating properties.
Thanks to the precisely screw-cut gears, our gear pumps produce almost no pulsation in the flow while being extremely precise, and the solid construction provides high reliability. The gear pumps are modular and can be taken apart and assembled without the use of tools, which makes for incredibly easy maintenance.
Our gear pumps are compact, have a high suction capacity and can be supplied with a heating jacket. They are available in cast iron, Inconel, Hastelloy, Alloy 20, Duplex and Super Duplex.
Eccentric pumps are suitable for transferring products with both very high and very low viscosity as well as media that require gentle handling, and media with particles.
The eccentric pump moves the medium using a single-turn metal rotor that rotates eccentrically and thus forms a cavity that moves from the suction side towards the pressure side. This achieves a uniform and delicate flow without pulsation. The low contact speed between rotor and stator also results in reduced wear on the pump's parts.
Eccentric pumps are known for their versatility and are available in different models in AISI 304, 316 stainless steel or in cast iron for both vertical and horizontal installation.A piston pump is a certain type of pump that is used to pump air, liquid or a combination of the two using its cylinders. When the pump is running, the cylinders force air or liquid into a reserve or storage tank. The pumps are powered by compressed air, hydraulics or water pressure.
The obvious advantage of this design is that the pump recovers air extremely quickly. The piston pump is also often made of cast iron and is among the most durable pumps you can find. In this way, you can use a piston pump for gentle pumping of media with both thick and thin liquid.
The design of the machine makes it possible for solids to flow freely without clogging the system. You therefore see it being used in particular for, for example, dosing or moving media of high viscosity or with a high specific gravity.
