What are single-use pumps?

Our single-use pumps are equipped with a product-moistened plastic pump chamber that can be replaced as a complete unit. The simple disposal of the pump chamber saves time and money because it reduces the need for cleaning, sterilisation and complex cleaning validation.

The use of single-use pumps creates a faster production process and delivers the required product cleanliness and sterility without damage to the product and without the risk of expensive cross-contamination of products and batches.

The single-use pumps ensure a gentle transfer of liquids thanks to their low pulsation, and as they do not pump on hoses, there is no generation of particles either. The pumps have a linear flow curve in relation to the pressure. This ensures a stable and precise flow, even if the pressure is increased by e.g., filtration. The pumps are also self-priming and can withstand dry running.

Our single-use diaphragm pumps are unique in the way they pump liquids, providing a safe, reliable and efficient transfer of biological materials. The low friction, low displacement and low pulsation and a corresponding minimal temperature increase of the medium, makes the pump ideal for critical applications within biopharmaceutical production.

The pumps can be installed with a replaceable single-use pump chamber that enables the pump and production to make quick conversions and meet a fast speed to market demand. The replaceable pump chambers make it quick and easy to change the single-use pump heads without the use of tools.

Find the right single-use pumps for your application

Our single-use pumps are made of materials that ensure you extremely high cleanliness and thus the best conditions for your product. The pumps are available in a wide range of variants, including:

  • Single-use diaphragm pump with moulded PE pump housing, and inlet and outlet in front
  • Single-use diaphragm pump with integrated controller, digital keypad for manual control & 230V motor
  • High-Turndown pump with integrated controller and 110-230V motor
  • Single-use diaphragm pump with compact footprint
  • Etc.

The single-use diaphragm pumps have four pistons and are designed for critical applications in the biopharma industry. The technology is the same for all variants and is based on the human heart. The pumps can be used in a wide range of applications in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry, including:

  • Chromatography systems
  • Cross-current systems, TFF
  • Centrifuge
  • Homogenizers
  • Direct flow filters
  • Reaction dosage
  • Virus or sterile filtration
  • Depth filtering
  • Buffer mixing systems
  • Blood plasma fractionation
  • Virus cultures
  • Bacterial and viral vaccines
  • Cell cultures
  • Cell culture supernatants
  • Enzyme solutions
  • Antibodies
  • Virus inactivation
  • DF/MF/UF filters
  • Etc.

The use of sterile single-use components saves time and reduces the risk of cross-contamination, while increasing productivity between batches. The systems are manufactured with a focus on quality, and they can be quickly installed and operational in a fraction of the time required to install traditional stainless steel systems used for pharmaceutical and biotechnological filling.
